Robo Lady

I like Pin Up art, I also Like science Fiction, I decided to mix the two with this Robot Pin-up! There are a few other robots I need to upload still, so more on the way :)

Skating Girl

This started out as an Amy Pond fan art thing, but I didn't lke where it was going. I thought it looked like the little character was skating so I made her into an ice skater. She may become my christmas card this year :)

Again with the Jill Penney inspiration. I like the set of monster characters she's devised so I thought I would have a good too. I used the same materials as the two drawings of the bendy girl characters but I photographed them rather than scanned them. This is a far better representation of the colours.

I love Jill Penney!

These i didn't forget about so much as Blogger was being mean for a while and wouldn't let me Upload them :(
This is the second of the characters inspired by Jill Penney. I think the copic marker was a good material for the washed out look of the denim.
Unfortunately the scan is not great. The colours are a lot more vibrant on paper and less washed out. Some of them have actually come up white on these :(

I have been looking a lot at the work of Jill Penney. I like her proportions and the little bits detail she adds to her sculpts. I have done a few characters inspired by her work. This is the first. I also wanted to experiment with using copic markers on water colour paper. It seems to have worked well, the finish almost looks like pastel its so smooth.

Happy Birthday Buddy :)

In line with what may turn out to be the theme of my blog this week, i.e stuff Rhian forgot about, (A theme a like as it creates the illusion that I'm actually keeping myself busy, rather than sleeping pas noon) here is a drawing I made for Buddy Holly's birthday. He would be 75 this year :)

Look What I Found......

I've been cleaning out my computer trying to make room for all of next years work. During a brutal round of filling my trash can (there were many fatalities) I came across the colour script I had done for pre production. I forgot how much I liked some of the panels so I thought I would put a (select) few of them together.

Smexy Alien

Um, so next year in uni I wanted to work on a sci fi idea. I have nothing solid planned yet so its hard to know where to start. I made this cut out alien girl on the off chance she may be useful down the line so we shall see. I'm not sure how well the scan turned out but she is wearing a bubble helmet which is made from clear acetate. There are blue highlights on the helmet, I was going to use basic light blue construction paper but I thought the tissue paper would be more affective in creating a reflection as it is opaque, it seemed closer to the actual material.
