The Universe

This was the panning shot that encompasses the whole world in which the series takes place. It shows a lot of the major points of interest such as the school, the park, the city planet. Its very detailed, I didn't want it to repeat anywhere and look like I cut corners, so I cut NO corners. It took forever.

Soylent Cola

Soylent Cola is people. Just another sci-fi refernce. Well, its sort of a cross reference as Futurama made a joke about the stuff. Its one of my favourite jokes in the show so I thought I'd honour it with a little adverty graphic thing in my show.

Fry: My God, what if the secret ingredient is people? 
Leela: No, there's already a soda like that - Soylent Cola. 
Fry: Oh. How is it? 
Leela: It varies from person to person. 

The Atom Bar

The Atom Bar is the cool hip club of the future. With that in mind it needed some cool hip billboards so that the awesomely cool youth of the future would know where to go for a good time. When I began designing these I started with regular rectangle shapes as if they were regular billboards. This seemed really boring considering how fun the place they are advertising is supposed to be. With that in mind I started using cool spacey, futuristic shapes instead.

Which Effie?

I used the graphics to make little references to existing sci-fi films and TV series. I have a store on the the Capitol planet called Effies Trinkets. Both these, the store and the planet, are Hunger Games refernces. I made two signs to go on the front of the store depicting Effie Trinket. One is human and one is a robot. I just cant decide which one to use.

Colourful Spacey People

I coloured the characters for the graphics I am produing. I am happy with these characters. I wanted them to show a culture in the future that is still very obsessed with youth culture and being young. I wanted the fashion to look very futuristic. I think the colour has helped the design to achieve this look. The colours work well together not just on a single character but between the graphics. I used the futuristic fashions in The Hunger Games as inspiration.

Spacey Ladies

Just a few sketches for a couple more graphics I'm working on. I'm not sure I have enough for that part of the project but thats the same for all parts of the project so either I'm really behind or I have really low confidence in the work. Anyway I can get into uni to get them scanned and coloured so these will have to do for now. These will be futuristic billboards for a club called The Atom Bar!
